Roger Letherbarrow

Roger is Special Counsel to the firm and holds a Diploma of Laws (S.A.B.). He was admitted as a Barrister in 1972 and as a Solicitor in 1974.

Roger has over 30 years experience in providing advice to the importers and manufacturers of cars, trucks, business, earthmoving construction and mining equipment and large scale commercial marine engines. His expertise is sought in Australia, NZ, Asia Pacific, USA, UK, Europe and Scandinavia. His advice covers all aspects of automotive, motor vehicle and marine engine importing and manufacturing businesses.

Roger worked for 10 years as Company Secretary and Senior In-House Counsel for large automotive/marine importers and manufacturers. He has lived and worked in Sweden, the US and the UK. During this time, he travelled throughout Europe, the US, UK and Asia to offer his expert legal automotive advice and opinions. He established Australia’s first specialist automotive legal practice in Sydney in early 1988.

Roger was a foundation member of the Corporate Lawyers Association. He has been a member of the Legal Panel of the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries, representing all manufacturers and importers of cars and motor cycles for 30 years. He has been the Honorary Solicitor to the Swedish Australian Chamber of Commerce for 30 years, being a past President, and is currently a Director. Roger has been an Honorary Solicitor for the past 25 years to the Australian Veterinary Association and he holds various other honorary roles.

Roger was a senior Army Reserve Legal Officer for over 30 years, and is now Honorary Consul General of Sweden, having been appointed by the Swedish and Australian Governments to that position in 2008.
